I have been looking to switch brands of cigars, only because I want something new. I really like they ones I have been smoking now, but it doen’t hurt to refresh your palatte with a new, different flavor. Since I have smoked the same cigars for years, I don’t know too much about other brands, what is good, and what is not. So I did some searching on the web and found some Cigar Samplers that give you a variety of one type of cigar. This is the perfect way to try new brands and is sometimes pretty inexpensive. Having a choice between different sizes, flavors and strengths is great. You can start with the mildest and work your way up to the strongest cigars. I am usually in between the two strengths, but the newest one that I tried is a CAO Sampler and it has a mild cigar in it that I really loved. These cigars are also flavored, which I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed them. My wife actually found the aroma to be a bit more pleasant than my typical cigars. I don’t think that these will become my staple cigar, but they are quite refreshing. I have found some others by different manufacturers that I would like to try, none of them are flavored, so I am hoping to find one that I will be able to enjoy daily. I have also been to a few cigar parties where they promote Cigar Samplers for the brand they are featuring. Unfortunately, it has been a long time since I have been to one. I enjoy the parties because they always have a lot of information about all of the cigars and for me I love it. The more I know the better decision I can make about what I want to smoke.

The Best Way to Try New Cigars
Friday, April 30th, 2010Sample White Owl Blunts
Tuesday, April 6th, 2010White Owl Cigars have been about for many many years and I have smoked them for so long as i can remember. I discovered an article from July 1932 about the General Cigar company, which manufacturer’s White Owls. At the time, these machine made cigars were being sold at seven cents. And that price was a bit to high for cigar smokers of that day. The median price of a machine made was about 5 cents. Many people went to General to make them decrease their price down to five cents. Not only did they want the price decreased, but they didn’t require the smoke to be modified at all . They wanted the same size and quality filler at a cheaper price. White Owl cigars are made with the costliest filler the US grows and is a quality cigar that some aficionado’s did not care paying some additional cents. Many executives of the company were not ready to change the price, they’d be making the lowest profit from the change and other corporations using scraps and damaged ends of tobacco would still be making a high profit margin, for less superior cigars. In the end, the decision was made to low the costs, but keeping the practice of great long filler and over sized cigars. Once the reduction was put into effect, the company broke records for rapid increase in consumption. They were able to do this with organized production and vast output. I only wish they continue to only cost five cents per cigar, that would save me a lot of money, i think i would be fine with paying the seven cents too.
